What Is Ink Art?
Ink art is artwork created using ink as the primary medium. The ink is applied with a pen, brush, dip nib, or technical drafting tool onto paper, vellum, or another receiving surface. The resulting marks range from fine precise lines to bold gestural strokes, depending on the tool, ink viscosity, and technique used.
Black ink on white paper is the most common and enduring form. The high contrast between ink and paper produces images that reproduce cleanly, print well at any scale, and read clearly at a distance.
